As a digital strategy and communications consultant, Jeri Lim specializes in providing training and advisory services to local NYC nonprofits and internationally-oriented companies. In October 2017, she had the opportunity to co-organize a daylong forum at Microsoft in NYC. During the forum, 20+ local and international nonprofit organizations convened to develop a more strategic and sustainable plan for collaboration in South/SE Asia, where they are working to uphold the rights of women and girls. As a connector and an optimist, she's a believer in the power of technology to drive positive change both locally and globally.
From 2015-2017, Jeri worked closely with the New York City Department of Health, helping them to build and streamline their text messaging campaigns, which are focused on everything from smoking cessation to maternal and child health programs. During the 2 years that she worked full time with the Mobile Commons division of Upland Software, she also advised organizations such as NALEO Educational Fund and SEIU 1199, helping them boost their GOTV efforts and educational initiatives in support of immigrants' rights. From 2014-2015, Jeri worked at NationBuilder headquarters in Los Angeles, where she provided highly personalized support and technical training to all types of nonprofits and political campaigns in Canada and the U.S.
Jeri graduated from NYU's Center for Global Affairs in 2010 with a master's degree in International Relations, and she lived and worked in Nanjing, China from 2010-2014. During that time, she started up an international education consulting business, and she co-founded an organization called Nanjing Community Outreach, which was focused on promoting volunteerism and service projects in the city. She made some incredible friends along the way and collected some unforgettable stories during her travels in the Chinese countryside.
Jeri started volunteering with veterans-focused initiatives in 2009, when her NYU classmate (an Iraq war veteran) recruited her to volunteer as an academic tutor for student veterans at Brooklyn City Tech. Jeri is a strong advocate for the importance of bridging the civilian-military divide, and she's looking forward to mentoring more individuals through Veterati as well as participating in more project in support of Travis Manion Foundation.
Born and raised in Fort Collins, Colorado, Jeri currently lives in Queens with her husband Ramil and their small dog named Bailey, who was adopted from Sean Casey Animal Rescue in Brooklyn. Ramil is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, and he's a combat veteran (U.S.M.C.) who has served in Iraq and Afghanistan. In the civilian world, Ramil has worked as a technical project manager and software engineer at Riot Video Games and NationBuilder. In his spare time, he enjoys sampling new Korean restaurants and teaching himself how to develop mobile apps and video games.
